Fireworks in City Limits

From Resolution 2024-02: In recognition of our country’s Independence Day celebrations, fireworks may be possessed and discharged on private property from Wednesday, July 3, 2024 to Saturday, July 6, 2024, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., provided that in no event shall a person discharge fireworks in a manner that endangers the health or safety of any other person, nor in such a manner that any portion of the fireworks so discharged shall enter upon the private property of another or upon the streets or public property of the City.
Street Repair Work

The last portion of the Drainage and Repair project that began last year, will be taking place later this summer. The pavement on Carey Street, near the intersection with High Street, will include excavating failed pavement and replacing with concrete. This will require a temporary street closure. More information will be provided when the work is scheduled. This project is being funded through federal funds, the city’s share of state fuel taxes and vehicles fees, and the city’s revenue and street funds.
